Implants - a fixed dental restoration with artificial roots

 

An implant is an "artificial" dental root made out of titanium. It will be implanted in the jaw bone. There it will grow together with your bone material. Therefore it can carry dental lab work, like crowns, bridges or dentures.

It does not matter, if you have lost one, several or all teeth, implants offer a vast variety of solutions. Different implant sizes and shapes allow for perfect recreation of your natural biting pattern - as if nothing ever happened. In a lot of cases implants will be the ultimate solution to replace missing teeth. There are hardly any limits to the patients age. Also in case of accidental loss, especially for younger generations, it presents an advantage over a dental bridge or denture.

Implants are placed under local anaesthesia or full anaesthesia in the jaw bone. It takes about 2-3 months until it has been fully absorbed by the bone. For this period you will receive a provisional restoration.

Thanks to implants, there is no more need for removable "teeth".

Implantations in full anaesthesia are conducted in close cooperation with our medical specialists of the "Elisabeth Hospital". In case of short, stationary stay, we can offer you the amnesties of the cardiovascular department.

 

 

Bone regeneration is routine for us

 

Dental Implants need enough healthy bone marrow to grow into the jaw bone on a long term basis. Sometimes though there is not enough bone existent. Then we will rebuilt your jaw bone with bone regenerating material. Once the bone is regrown, we will set the implants.

 

 

"Immediate" implants are possible in some cases

 

Prerequisite are, that there are no existing infections on teeth or gums. Our dentists will evaluate your situation and decide if this rapid procedure will be possible.
